Cold and Flu season can be miserable. Everywhere you turn, people are coughing and sneezing on you. Your children bring home every virus out there and at work, everyone is phoning in sick.

What can you do to boost your immunity, fight off germs and deal with them if they do get you?

Here’s our guide.

What’s The Difference Between Having A Cold And Having Flu?

Colds and flu are both contagious (catching) viral infections.

Many people say that they have had flu or a ‘flu bug’ but if you have ever had the real flu – you will know the difference.

Although some of the symptoms are similar, flu is much, much worse.

A cold may make you feel ill and slow you down a bit but the flu can make it hard to lift your head off the pillow.

When Is the Flu Virus Most Prevalent?

According to the CDC, the worst months are December, January, February and March – with flu hitting its peak in February.

Be On High Alert During Those Months – And Fight Back

Airborne bugs will be trying to attack so you need to boost your immune system to resist those attacks. Keep it boosted before the bugs appear. Prevention is better than cure.

Our Radiant Immune Defense supports your immune system, strengthens your resistance and cultivates adaptability.

We developed Radiant Immune Defense to be the ultimate protective formula. It is composed of the greatest adaptogenic Super Herbs in the World. All of the herbs in this formula produce powerful immune enhancing characteristics.

We want to keep your whole family safe so we also have a version specifically for children – Childrens Immune Defense.

If you do start to feel ill, how do you fight back? Follow these two simple steps.

STEP ONE – Start Taking Stop It Cold!

Your first line of defense is Stop It Cold!

Stop It Cold! Is one of the best natural cold remedies and is our bestselling product at this time of the year – for a very good reason.

It works.

If you take it from the first moment that you even think you may be getting sick, then you will wake up the next morning – cold-free. 99% of our Customers have such amazing results with Stop It Cold that one even described it as a Magic Formula.

However, you have to know how to take it *properly. Keep it on your shelf and then at the very first signs of feeling ill or excessively tired, take it and say goodbye to those airborne bugs.

How to take Stop It Cold! For The Best Results

Take a ‘loading dose’ of 5 capsules

Then take 2-3 capsules every 3 hours.

Stop It Cold! will immediately start fighting your symptoms and lift your energy.

Keep it beside your bed at night.

When you awaken feeling clear in the morning, take 3 more and then keep the bottle with you for the day. Often the cold will try to get you again the next afternoon so be prepared to fight again. Don’t fill your medicine cabinet with over-the-counter cold remedies. Just keep Stop It Cold!

STEP TWO – The 3 No’s  –  No Cold Water,  No Sugar and  No Alcohol

You need to cut these out because all three of them suppress your immune system.

If you continue drinking cold water and alcohol and taking in sugar, you will get that cold. Guaranteed. Start drinking plain hot water instead. Hot water hydrates your body much more efficiently than cold or even room temperature drinks.

Abstaining from these is a form of cold medicine so just keep telling yourself it is temporary. Don’t go back to the sugar, sodas, etc until you have had at least 3 clear days without symptoms.

If You Do Get Sick Here are the 4 Key Symptoms and What to Do About Them

Symptom 1 – Fever, there are two types.

Before we say anything else — check in with your doctor. It is important for him to evaluate what you have.

If you are not hospitalized, the doctor will tell you to go home for now and treat the symptoms. This is where the right herbs and the right knowledge will help you. Keep in touch with your doctor.

Type One

A ‘Normal’ Fever for a Cold. This Is a Fever That Comes and Goes and Does not Get Really High

Stop It Cold! is the best formula for this kind of fever, it will boost your energy, and help you sweat out the cold.

Type Two

A Fever Of 100 Degrees Or Higher, That Stays High and Doesn’t Come Down
OR a low grade fever that never comes and goes. Constant drying heat.

Don’t Take Stop It Cold!

If you have been taking it for what you thought was a cold, but is now flu, stop taking it.

Why?

Stop It Cold! helps the body to sweat out a head cold.

When you have a persistently high fever, OR a low-grade fever that never lets up, you don’t want a cold remedy that helps you sweat.

The fever is already making you sweat too much and drying you up inside. At this point, you want products that can quickly reduce high fever and moisten the lungs and the stomach, to reduce the side effects of the fever.

Fight the Flu! combined with Fever Buster is one of the best flu remedies available and is the best for this type of fever. These are special herbs to moisten the dry lungs and bring down the high fever.

Take the herbs and do the Gua Sha (explained below) to bring down the fever at the same time you are taking the doctor’s treatment. They are not contraindicated.

Potential Disaster to be Aware Of

The potential disaster is that constant heat from the fever will dry up your body fluid so much that it will weaken your lungs and leave you with a dry cough for weeks.

You may have very low energy. You may even lose your voice. Make sure you hydrate well – you are losing fluids and you need to replenish.

Symptom 2 – Chills With Your Fever

Make a hot tea. A thin slice of raw ginger + 1 cinnamon stick + hot water and a little honey.

Sip this tea and nausea will settle down. You can use the same herbs in the cup all day. Just add more hot water or even room temperature water.

You can also add Cardamom or Anise.

Symptom 3 – A Dry Cough (The Heat of the Cold or Flu Has Dried Your Lungs)

You may start a dry cough that won’t stop.

This is another side effect of the heat created by the fever, or the body fighting against the cold/flu.

*Don’t Take Expectorant Cough Syrup

Taking an expectorant cough syrup will dry your lungs and make the cough worse.

A normal expectorant cough syrup is helpful for a cold in the beginning stages, where the mucus needs to dried out and expelled.  But that is not what you need in the case of a dry cough.   You don’t have lots of phelgm. You are very low in fluids. The cough syrup will make that worse, not better.  You might easily lose your voice completely.

Take Stop the Cough! – One of the Best Natural Cough Remedies

Stop the Cough! is a mild mucolytic. Mucolytics break down the mucus and make it a thinner fluid so it can be more easily expelled with coughing.

It is also an antitussive.  Antitussives (cough suppressants) relax the respiratory system and the blood pressure and then the coughing reflex relaxes and stops.

Take 3 capsules 3 times a day and drink lots of hot water. Within a few days your voice will be back and your cough will be gone.

Is the Cough Very Dry?

Stop the Cough! is only a mild mucolytic, so if the cough is very dry you need something like
Cough and Bronchitis #1.

If you thought you’d already found the best cough medicine, give this formula a try. It quickly rehydrates the lungs and allows the phlegm to thin and be expelled.

Sore Throat?

Try Herbal Antibiotic. It’s fantastic for any sore throat. You will feel the benefits right away.

Crackly Voice?

When the cold/flu is over and you’re left with a crackly voice, take Restore Energy to bring back both your voice and your energy.

Honey

Honey has been called the tastiest antibiotic. Drinking honey in hot water has been recognized as one of the best home remedies for flu for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

If you have a cold or flu with a dry cough, honey is a life saver.

In a 2007 Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine performed a study involving 105 children ages 2-18 with upper respiratory infections.

Children who were given buckwheat honey (between 1/2 and 2 teaspoons prior to bedtime, depending on age) coughed less and slept better than children who did not receive any honey or who received honey-flavored dextromethorphan (the primary active ingredient in many cough and cold medications).

The antibiotic actions of honey are wonderful for healing wounds without leaving scars.

Symptom 4

Nausea, Vomiting and/or Diarrhea
(another side effect of the high heat in the body)

Fresh Ginger

Fresh ginger is very good at settling stomachs. This is because it is packed with more than a dozen antiviral compounds. For the best results, make sure that you use raw ginger root and not dried ginger tea.

When you’re buying fresh ginger, choose a root that is shiny. This is a good indication of how fresh it is and it will last for longer. One piece of fresh ginger root should last for at least a month if you keep it in the refrigerator.

How to Make Ginger Tea

You don’t have to skin the ginger. Cut off the dried end and take off a thin slice. Put the thin slice into the bottom of your mug and add hot water.

It tastes wonderful but don’t drink it fast. Sip it slowly. This will allow it to work faster and better. Your tummy will settle down quite quickly.

Plain White Rice

Once you feel up to eating again, start with lightly salted plain white rice. It’s wonderful for stabilizing digestion. You probably have some plain white rice in your cupboard – even if it’s Uncle Ben’s. Even Uncle Ben’s is better than saltines for helping your digestive system to recover. However, the absolute best is plain white organic sushi rice.

How to Prepare Plain White Organic Sushi Rice

This is also the easiest way to cook ordinary plain rice. Use half rice to water. So if you’re using a cup of rice, add two cups of boiling water (with a pinch of salt added to it).

Put a lid on the saucepan and put it onto the lowest setting on your stove. If you have a simmer ring, that’s ideal. Don’t touch it at all for 20 minutes. Then turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes. Then take a fork and fluff up the rice. Don’t stir it as it may become sticky. It tastes so good – and your tummy will thank you.

Mama’s Chicken Soup

It’s official. Chicken soup really can help. Research has found that homemade chicken soup contains a compound called carnosine which helps your body’s immune system to fight off flu. It must be eaten in the early stages of flu for the best results.
